Nico Tuijn is a judge in the Court of Appeal in ’s-Hertogenbosch, department of criminal law. He studied law and public administration at the university of Leiden. Since more than 20 years he is also active on an international legal level, working for the European Union, the Council of Europe and the Dutch Department of Foreign Affairs. He is also a member of the Meijers Committee (an independent group of experts that researches and advises on European criminal-, migration-, refugee-, privacy-, non-discrimination- and constitutional law)
He is president of the Dutch foundation Anak Terlantar, which foundation helps poor children and orphans in Indonesia.
